More than any other FontFont, FF Kosmik demonstrates FontShop International’s desire to set technical and aesthetic standards.

The idea behind Kosmik was that of a digital script font in block capitals that would not look like it was produced at the computer. Erik van Blokland drew three comic-style versions of each character, all with the same width, and these are programmatically varied during the printing process. When the typeface was released in 1993, this automatic feature only worked on Macintosh. Thanks to OpenType, Windows users can now benefit from it too.
