It is one of the oldest FontFont typefaces: the grungy typewriter face FF Trixie. Until recently, its parentage was unknown. It was raised in The Hague by “foster father” Erik van Blokland. But who conceived it? The recently published book Made with FontFont finally provided the answer. Trixie’s “mother font” was called Triumph Durabel, and was born in Nuremberg in around 1930. In 1991, she left her typographical code on a sheet of A4 paper.

Recently discovered: FF Trixie’s genetic code (from Made with FontFont)
