It is one of the oldest FontFont typefaces: the grungy typewriter face FF Trixie
. Until recently, its parentage was unknown. It was raised in The Hague by “foster father” Erik van Blokland
. But who conceived it? The recently published book Made with FontFont
finally provided the answer. Trixie’s “mother font” was called Triumph Durabel
, and was born in Nuremberg in around 1930. In 1991, she left her typographical code on a sheet of A4 paper.
